At Transitions Midwifery, we provide care for women during all stages of their life. Services include: Primary care, contraception, nonsurgical gynecologic care, preconception counseling, prenatal care and childbirth.

About the Midwife
Transitions Midwifery is owned and operated by Krista Parcell, APRN, CNM, FNP-BC. Krista became an RN in 2007 and spent 10 years working as a nurse in the Emergency Department. In 2015, she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from Marshall University and obtained certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife from Shenandoah University. In 2017, she also completed her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Marshall University.
Krista is board certified with the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) as well as the ANCC. She has been serving women in the Charleston, WV area since 2015.

Krista attended births in both the hospital and birth center settings and has been bringing her personalized, compassionate care to women in the home setting for 3 years, providing them with a safe and comfortable alternative to hospital birth.​
​
Krista is a native West Virginian who grew up in Clay County and currently resides in Sissonville. She has been married to her husband, George for 19 years and they have 3 teenage children. When she’s not catching babies, she enjoys collecting vintage glass, going to antique stores and flea markets, traveling to the beach and going to concerts.
Services
Prenatal Care
Prenatal visits are provided in a relaxed environment with plenty of time for education and questions. Typically, prenatal visits last for an hour or more.
Gyn Care
Annual exams, contraception, problem visits, preconception counseling, IUD removal
Home birth
Birth services (including water birth) will be provided in the comfort and protection of your own home with the assistance of a Certified Nurse Midwife and a birth assistant.
